The next most challenging aspects were Speaking confidently in conversation (26), The Quick pace of the course (30), Grammar (22) and the Heavy work-load (23). Other concerns mentioned were: Listening in Japanese (13), Writing Japanese (9), Reading Japanese (5), Juggling dual-honours study (8), Lack of spoken Japanese teaching (17), Self-study(14), Essay-writing (7), Modern Vocabulary (3), using terms of politeness (3), fellow students (3) and translation (5). Individual students had problems with: Being unsure about their year abroad, Classical Japanese, Homonyms, Textbooks, Japanese Names and Their dyslexia not being recognised during their year in Japan.
