Birmingham has about 2,200 Japan-related books in English and a small number in Japanese; it also subscribes to 140 Japan-related journals in English. All resources are catalogued on an in-house computerised system. There is an agreement to share catalogue data with the Consortium of University Research Libraries. The average annual expenditure on Japan-related resources since 2000 is about £1,700.
